Rule 8
Work, Duties and Rights of Local Disaster Management Committee
: (1) In addition to the work, duties and rights mentioned in the Act, the other work, duties and rights of the Local Disaster Management Committee shall be as follows :-
(a) To prepare and implement action plans including plans and programs related to disaster risk reduction and management,
(B) "Accounting, mapping, analyzing the situation of disaster risk at the local level and making necessary arrangements for disaster risk reduction in the works related to development,
(c) Monitoring and enforcing compliance with the National Building Code, Building Construction Standards and other approved guidelines or standards while constructing physical structures,
(d) Arranging capacity building of staff and volunteers to be mobilized in disaster management, (e) Arranging necessary arrangements including safety equipment, insurance for the safety of people involved in disaster rescue work,
(f) According to sub-section//5) of section 18 of the Act, managing search and rescue materials based on the demand of security agencies, (G) To use traditional knowledge, skills and technology for disaster management and arrange arrangements for mobilizing the local community,
(h) Preparing and implementing methods and procedures for disaster risk transfer including insurance and social security,
(i) Formation and mobilization of thematic groups for disaster management. 2) The local disaster management committee will be able to form a ward level disaster preparedness and response committee and conduct the work.
